The artistic journey has always been carried by colors – they are the first thing the eyes meet and the very core of the creative process within painting and visual art. Since 1978, when life drawing and art teaching in Aalborg, Sønderborg, Esbjerg and Vejle began, working with colors, abstract art and organic forms has been a common thread and a constant source of curiosity, immersion and renewal in contemporary visual art.
Today stands a sensuous contemporary artist who, since 2021, has devoted herself fully to painting, the canvas and the creative process within abstract art. Colors function as the key to both personal and artistic development and have been the focal point of a deeply therapeutic journey following a sudden career change. Each painting comes into being through an intuitive painting process, where the colors are allowed to take the lead and the abstract expression slowly emerges layer by layer – from the first brushstroke to the finished artwork.
The studio is located in Klitmøller, also known as "Cold Hawaii", where the rhythm of the sea, the wind and the raw North Jutland nature leave their mark every day on the work with abstract art, colors and artistic expression. Here, a playful and experimental approach to painting and visual art unfolds, inspired by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Salvador Dalí, Antoni Gaudí, Richard Mortensen and Mark Rothko, whose different styles, color universes and compositions are reflected and interpreted in the modern abstract works.
"Susanne’s works are multi-faceted, powerful, free – just like herself. A woman who cannot be classified. And that is precisely what makes them so special. A moment full of lightness, freedom and connection – with nature, with art, with Susanne’s energy."
